Coffee Signature is a fairly new addition to the cafes and restaurants (read my review of Naughty Nuri’s here) along Jalan Serampang, which was previously just one long stretch of bridal shops. Coffee Signature is a container cafe, so do expect to be seated in crammed conditions, and it’s definitely not suitable for people with claustrophobia haha.
Coffee Signature’s black container is not hard to miss, but if you’re driving, you’ll only notice it when you’re relatively near as it is such a small container sandwiched between comparatively huge shops. There is a small and tight parking space right in front of their cafe.
There is an outdoor sitting area full of cactuses as well, which I can only imagine myself chilling, while sipping a cup of hot latte in a cold weather.
The ground floor of Coffee Signature can barely accommodate one table, so customers usually need to climb up to the second floor, but watch your steps as the stairs are quite steep.
Decent interior, with its all-black theme and potted plants everywhere.
Sweet Rain 甜心雨 (RM16.90)
This is Coffee Signature’s popular drink. But as you can see, my sweet rain did not rain at all. 🙁 You can actually order any coffee or tea so I decided to go with a normal latte, as the waiter forgot to tell me that the temperature of latte is not hot enough to melt the strands of cotton candy. If you want it to rain, remember to order their black coffee/tea, and the cotton candy will drizzle down nicely.
I tried to manually make it rain haha, but it looked more like a tornado. :O
Well, at least I got to enjoy my cotton candy as it is, and not let everything disappear into my coffee.
Huevos Rancheros (RM21.00)
Firstly I don’t even know how to pronounce the name of the dish but I decided to go with it rather than the usual Eggs Benedict. It is actually a Mexican style baked egg dish, consisting of braised onion, tomato, jalapeño, garlic, cumin, topped with egg and cheese.
It was a great egg dish, in terms of flavour and intensity, but I would prefer it if it were less cheesy. Dipping the toasted bread into the baked eggs was a (guilty) pleasure to indulge in. 😉
Fungi Pollo E Olio (RM26.00)
We ordered the seafood pasta but this came instead so we just accepted it. This is an Aglio Olio dish with wild mushrooms and grilled chicken.
I’m usually not a fan of Aglio Olio hence I found this to be quite bland in terms of flavour. Coffee Signature also has a selection of pastas such as creamy mushroom, seafood and spicy tomato meatball to suit different needs.
Blood Cleanse Fruit Juice (RM16.00)
I believe this is a cold-pressed juice, as it tasted similar to the one I usually make at home, and I’m quite certain they used beetroot as one of their ingredients. Very healthy and refreshing. 🙂
Overall, Coffee Signature is a decent cafe that stands out in terms of their design and serves better-than-average cafe food. Hopefully their service time would improve in the future.
